PRIMERA COMUNION, Josep Llimona 1989
In this sculpture we find the features that defined the sculpture of the great Llimona, such as, for example, the evocation of moods, even reflecting some mystical experience. In this First Communion, we are not presented with a typical image of the sacrament at all, but instead we are offered a representation of two girls who seem to live in a different way in an apparent mystical state and who have a powerful evocative force in a display of spirituality.
Not only the facial expressions are different, but also the poses, such as the representation of the hands that in one case are intertwined on the chest and in the other, they are hidden inside the clothing that has two peaks as if it had them extended in an attitude of prayer.
