GREEK HELENISTIC PIER, Empuries, 1st BC

GREEK HELENISTIC PIER, Empuries, Spain - 1st BC
It is a Hellenistic breakwater, in excellent condition by the ancient Greek and Roman Ruins. It was built in the 1st century BC and it is located at one end of the Greek Quay beach.
Majestic, with over two thousand years of history in its rocks, this pier reminds bathers this was the gateway for Greek and Roman civilizations into the Iberian Peninsula. Under its waters there still remind some structures of this key port, most of those buried by land over the centuries.
